BIOGRAPHY
His first band was a unique genre of very complicated music structure and time signatures. However, Jason's musical palate was geared more toward classical and jazz fusion and progressive composition, as well as a passion for Acoustic. He was heavily influenced by artists like Pat Metheny, Phil Keaggy, the Beatles, and Stanley Jordan, to name a few.
As his style continued to develop, he found himself taking on the role of guitar for POD in February 2003. Sleeping Awake would be the first song he would write with POD. It was the title track to the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack, which sold over one million copies in the U.S. From there, he would write with POD their self titled album which went gold in the U.S. and sold one million world wide. During the making of this album, Jason became friends with guitar legend Phil Keaggy who was featured on an instrumental song he and Jason wrote called Eternal. The debut album with Jason led to #8 on Billboard and a #1 video at MTVs TRL, and #1 at rock radio.
This led to the release of an LP called Warriors 2. This was a collection of songs during the writing process of Jason's second album with POD called Testify. During this time Jason composed and tracked a song with POD that was featured on album for the Passion of the Christ. This album would gone on to win a Dove award.
Testify was released January 2006 and was produced by Grammy winning producer Glen Ballard. During this time, Jason recorded his first instrumental album entitled String Theory. It was recorded in Colorado Springs and co-produced by John Schroder at John's studio. It is a very introspective album using multiple acoustics and demonstrates much of Jason's diversity as a writer.
Jason was featured on the cover of Finger Style Magazine and shared a spot with Chet Adkins on that finger style album.
In October 2006, Jason performed as a solo artist for the first time at the Denver Guitar Festival sharing the stage with Phil Keaggy and Glassharp. 2006 would take us to Jason's final song and album with POD which was featured on The Atlantic Years...the Best of POD.
In 2007 Jason Released his second Guitar album entitled "Waiting on the Wind". This was truly and introspective album, and truly gives a glimpse into the depth of Jason's composition style. This album truly established Jason with a reputation of being able to touch the human soul with sound.
In 2008 Jason released a much more organic acoustic album entitled "Finding the Quiet". This a collection of guitar tunes he had written for his children over the years. He incorporated open tunings and his unique finger style with a peace and comfort which is expressed in the album name.
Touring acoustic, mixing vocal tunes with instrumentals and creating a symphonic free play at each performance with his loop station, has given audiences unique versions from show to show.
In 2009 Jason began to write and track his first full rock album since leaving POD in 2006. He would step out as a singer songwriter and does so without hesitation. This album entitled "ENTROPY", was completed this year and features relevant, and thought provoking music that, as Jason states, "Took me twenty years to write." Entropy features the beautiful guitar ability as well as the deep spiritual connection Jason has experienced.
Jason is currently performing his unique acoustic sets and full band shows, writing and composing. He often will speak from his life experiences for Churches, Schools, and Community Groups.
Between performances, Jason oversees a music school he started in Little Rock, Teaching and Training music.
